Faulty FEMA Maps??
In the wake of Colorado's worst flooding in its history, there are certainly many homeowners that will be using their flood insurance! I saw Parker's Sulphur Gulch raging a few days ago, and even saw someone kayaking in it!
However, the TODAY show had a great piece on insurance companies forcing homeowners to buy flood insurance at closing because they were in a designated flood area. But the sad reality is that a huge percentage of the maps generated by FEMA are outdated and just incorrect, causing tens of thousands of dollars to be wasted over the course of a mortgage.
YOU CAN CHALLENGE THE MAPS. YOU CAN FIGHT THE SYSTEM AND WIN. This piece proves that and has some great links that will help you do it.
