This report illustrates the very poor return on your money when you remodel certain parts of your home. What's worth noting is that the very best return on any project listed is only 73% for an entry door. So many sellers seem to think that their homes are worth more than they are because they have this "number" in their head of what they have spent on the home. They always seem to think they can get that "number" back when selling, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. Its all because of the market we have experienced in the last 5 years of course.
BUYERS DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU SPENT ON YOUR HOME.
If you remodel your home just do it because you want to (or have to,) not because you think you will get a dollar-for-dollar return on it when you sell.
I think this is great that it also is broken down by midrange and upscale homes in CO. Notice that the return is even worse with the upscale homes!
